Huawei Mission and Vision

Huawei was founded in 1987. It is a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider. The brand is based in Shenzhen, China. It is also among the three largest smartphone brands of the world. Today, the company operates across more than 170 countries and regions. One important thing about the company is that it is a private company wholly owned by its employees. Through the Union of Huawei Investment & Holding Co., Ltd., the company has implemented an Employee Shareholding Scheme which involves 96,768 employee shareholders. The scheme is limited to Huawei employees and no government agency or outside organization holds shares in Huawei. The company’s number of patents reached 87,805 in 2018 and of the 11,802 core patents were granted in United States. Apart from that Huawei is a leader in 5G innovation and commercial deployment.

Below are the mission and vision of Huawei. Huawei has included its mission and vision in a single statement:

Huawei’s vision is to bring digital to every person, home and organization for a fully connected, intelligent world.

To this end, we will:

  • â–  Provide ubiquitous connectivity to give everyone equal access to connections;
  • â–  Provide pervasive intelligence to drive businesses forward;
  • â–  Build digital platforms to help all industries and organizations become more agile, efficient, and vibrant;
  • â–  Deliver a personalized experience to all, respecting the unique character of everyone, and enabling the full potential of every person to be realized

From the outset, in its mission, Huawei declares its identity as a digital organization that is investing in the growth and proliferation of digital technology and to bring its benefits to everyone around the world. Its mission is to invest its resources in the making of a digitally connected world. It also spells out at the outset that the brand intends to serve both individual and enterprise customers. This is the main part of its mission and vision statement. In the next part, Huawei spells out how it intends to achieve its mission.

The next four lines spell out how the brand will serve the various customer segments through its technological resources. Apart from helping individuals stay connected, it will also offer pervasive intelligence so the business customers can grow faster. It also intends to build digital platforms so businesses and industries can be more productive. At last, it wants to help everyone realize his full potential with the help of digital technology by providing personalized services and experiences.

Two things stand out clearly in the mission and vision statement of Huawei which are its customer focus and innovation in digital technology. However, there are a few more things that also require to be included in the mission and vision statement including the current market position of the business, where it aspires to be relative to its competitors and the size of its market. Its mission and vision statements do not shed any  light on the market position of Huawei or financial position of the company. While Huawei clearly spells out its focus to be a customer centric company, it should also include information on the other factors outlined above.
